Everyone’s favorite Little Pea is leaving Europe and coming to MLS. Of course the transfer to a “lesser” league will disappoint many but I’m taking a different approach.

Not a bad run for a player many thought was a novelty purchase by Manchester United to penetrate the Mexican market. I remember reading how United was looking to loan him out that first season before his scoring kept him on the team sheet week after week. Ultimately, he finished as the 3rd highest goal scorer of the decade for the Red Devils. A club he essentially left in the 2014 summer transfer window. He became the breakout Mexican star in Europe, demonstrating to clubs that Mexican players can make it in top leagues and clubs. Few players can say they played at Real Madrid and Manchester United, much less scored in the Champions League for both. Even when certain managers didn’t value him and pushed him aside, he fought to stay in Europe and moved to clubs that wanted him. Could he have made more money coming back to North America? Of course but Chicha wanted to play in Europe. I’m glad he fought so hard and lasted as long as he did.

I guess what I’m trying to say in this post is, Thanks Chicharito.

As for his next move, I know I will be watching. Will you?
