Heading into the 2014 season, Cubo Torres was a 21 year old former wunderkind. He had failed to fully live up to the hype as the next “Chicharito” but still had some success in LigaMX. He had 14 career LigaMX goals as a much hyped teenager before being sent off to Chivas USA. Interesting to note that Chicharito only had 1 LigaMX before his 20th birthday but back to Cubo…

As a huge fan of the beautiful game, I’m always on the lookout for soccer gear. Whether its kits for Mexico or just soccer inspired shirts. That’s where Philly based- Live Breathe Futbol comes in.

I already wrote about Mexico’s 2012 Olympic gold but this piece will focus from a different angle. More specifically, from a jersey angle. Going into the Olympics, it was known Mexico was not going to be able to wear their Adidas kits but rather Atletica. This was due to Atletica having a deal to outfit all of Mexico’s Olympic athletes. Naturally, I had low expectations.

When I first started this blog, it was mostly to write about El Tri and Mexicans in Europe. I was getting up early every weekend to watch dodgy streams of Mexicans Abroad that were usually riddled with pop ups, it felt good to put it to use. It was a fun learning process and my first stab at blogging about futbol. Me and some friends even started podcasting about Mexican soccer. It eventually led to me writing over at FMF State of Mind, SB Nation’s Mexican Soccer blog. As a result, this blog has kinda gone without new content for a while. The last post was just after we ushered in 2016, some were probably still hung over from New Year’s Day celebrations. So what will I be posting on here?
I’m going to use this site to post soccer related stuff that isn’t really suited for FMF State of Mind. Think more like me finding a kit from a club in the 6th tier of German football that I am trying to order or me devouring the latest Football Manager or a book review of something I am (finally) reading. Hopefully you find some cool stuff here. Now excuse me while I go re-watch Mexico beat Brazil in the 2012 Gold Medal Game.

Memo in his natural habitat… the bench.
With the transfer window opening up for much of the world, its time to see which Mexicans should be looking for new addresses. Here is my list of 4 players who should really push for a move, whether its a loan or permanent transfer. For once, this list will not include Chicharito, who has found a home at Bayer Leverkusen. Let’s see who is on my list…
Rafa, Bryan, and Raul breakdown the crazy LigaMX final, the dealings at the Clausura Draft, Europeos, and some guy named Little Pea.
