Trusted website, Footy Headlines is hearing that Mexico might have a maroon Away kit for the 2022 World Cup. 2022 is also the 100th anniversary of the FMF and maroon will be a return to Mexico’s original kit color.
It wasnt until the 1950s that Mexico started wearing green as their primary color. I like the throwback elements of this kit and as an away kit, it makes sense. However, Footy Headlines does note that FIFA has a policy of teams having one mainly dark kit and one mainly light kit. If Mexico has a green home kit at the World Cup, that will be an issue. Still, I like the idea of this kit and Away kits are the ones you play around with. What I am not a fan of is the new rumored logo for the FMF.
It feels like a change for the sake of change. Maybe it will grow on me but it will take a while.
