Weekend Preview: 3/5

A packed Sunday highlights this weekend’s Mexicans Abroad Schedule.

Weekend Schedule

3/6/21

Wolves vs Aston Villa (12:30pm ET): No Raul Jimenez but every bit of news we get about his recovery is positive.

Porto vs Gil Vicente (1pm ET): Jesus Corona is producing week in and week out for the Portuguese giants. If not for COVID, I think Porto would of had more serious transfer interest for him last summer.

Boavista vs FC Famalicao (3:30pm ET): Dead last in the table at 18th place but only 3 points from 12th place. Alejandro Gomez is on the outside looking in but should make the bench.

3/7/21

Ajax vs FC Groningen (6:15am ET): Edson Alvarez keeps getting praise from his manager and teammates.

Celta Vigo vs Huesca (8am ET): Nestor Araujo is expected to be out a couple weeks.

Zulte vs Club Brugge (10am ET): Omar Govea is a maybe for this game as he suffered a minor injury last weekend. If he can go, look for him to come off the bench instead of start.

Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid (10:15am ET): Hector Herrera is back and look for him to be on the bench as first place Atletico face off against 3rd place Real Madrid.

Panetolikos vs Volos (10:15am ET): Paolo Medina finished off February with 4 starts but his club is fighting to stay up.

Lille vs Ajaccio (12:30pm ET): I think this is Eugenio Pizzuto best chance of making his European debut as Lille takes on a 4th division club in a cup game.

Napoli vs Bologna (2:45pm ET): No Hirving Lozano but he is expected to be back in time for their matchup versus AC Milan on 3/14.

Racing Genk vs Cercle Brugge (2:45pm ET): A must win game for Gerardo Arteaga and company. Cercle is in a relegation battle and a game Genk must win to keep their playoff hopes alive.

3/8/21

Real Betis vs Alaves (3pm ET): Last weekend saw Diego Lainez first start since his recovery from COVID. Expect more of the same this weekend with El Principito Andres Guardado joining him.
