Here are today’s Key Passes. A little later than usual but still just as good. I know the goal above happened in a U17 game but it is one of my favorite goals scored. His club career is kinda of stalled but Julio Gomez aka La Momia will always have this goal.
Mexico
- Copa MX Results: America, Atlante, and Monterrey advanced. Pachuca take on Tijuana on 11/8.
- Gerardo Torrado has officially retired from soccer. He will now link up with the National Team and become the Sporting Director.
- In 2007, World Soccer magazine had 2 Mexicans in their “Top 50 Most Exciting Teenage Footballers.” One of them was in the top 5…
Mexicans Abroad
- HH had a great game against RB Leipzig. He finished w/the second highest WhoScored rating in the game and scored his 4th Champions League goal.
- Tecatito had a strong game as well but had more of an effect on the defensive end. Corona had 2 tackles, 3 interceptions and consistently tracked back to help out his defenders.
- Another goal for Maleck in Porto’s UEFA Youth League game versus RB Leipzig puts him at 8 goals scored in 12 games or 1 every 116 minutes.
- Paolo Medina started at right back for Benfica versus Manchester United in their UEFA Youth League match. He has gone 90 minutes in all 7 games he has played.
- Hirving Lozano is having a break out season at PSV. Tom Marshall updates us on Chucky’s great season at PSV and good form for El Tri.
- Hector Herrera is tied for 3rd in Champions League goals by a Mexican.
Gear
- Here is a great mock up of a Campos-esque kit for Mexico.
- Juventus will be wearing these kits to celebrate their 120th anniversary. I am a big fan of the clean crest.
- Mexico are expected to show off their new kits for the 2018 World Cup later today. Expect them to look like this.
What to Watch
- Carlos Vela and Real Sociedad play FK Vardar in Europa League play @4:05pm ET today.
