As the dust settles on Mexico’s failed attempts to get out of their World Cup group, and the wishes of many vocal fans of seeing Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino sacked has come to fruition, the focus naturally has moved on to who the replacement will be. Ever the demanding job, with the intense media scrutiny, the list of candidates with decent qualifications wanting to take the job is likely to be short. Still, a few names have popped up already.

Where Does Mexico Go From Here?

In my last blog post, I focused on how things are never as good or bad as many fans think they are for El Tri. While I still subscribe to that thinking, the future is very cloudy for the National team. Unless the FMF start planning with an eye towards 2026, Mexico will be embarrassed on home soil. Not sure players want 90k at the Azteca booing them. How can the FMF avoid that? I have some ideas ….

Here for a Good Time or a Long Time?

The World Cup is finally here. How are Mexico fans feeling? …… Yeah, I’m not making any plans for us to be in the final on December 18th either. But I don’t think things are as bad as many are making them out to be for El Tri. Maybe it’s the optimistic in me but I think Mexico is more likely to end their tournament in the knockout round instead of the group stage in Qatar.

El Tri Returns To Their Roots

In a shock to no one, Adidas decided to give us a green jersey for the upcoming World Cup. It will also be the first jersey to feature the new crest. The old crest will always hold a special place in my heart but the new one has grown on me since it was announced. As it with all their World Cup kits, Adidas is using their new logo as well. So, there’s a lot going on in this kit. How did it turn out?
