Weekend Schedule: 9/13

Club soccer is back on in Europe. There are plenty of Mexicans expected to suit up for their clubs. Gone are the days of being happy to have a Mexican just make the bench. Lets see when these games kick off..

All game times are in Central Time

Atletico Madrid v Real Madrid- 9/13/14, 1:00 PM This derby will have a Mexican flavor to it. Rumors are that Raul Jimenez will get the start up top for Atletico and Chicharito will make his debut off the bench. Another fun layer to this is their former clubs back home: Jimenez from Club America and Chicharito from Chivas. I wish I could find the ratings for this match back in Mexico, might be record breaking for a La Liga game.

Villareal v Granada- 9/14/14, 2:00 PM At least one of the Dos Santos brothers will not play due to injury for a couple weeks. Our hope is the other makes his debut soon. Jona has yet to debut in La Liga for the Yellow Submarine but its only a matter of time.

Rayo Vallecano v Elche- 9/14/14,  5:00 AM Javier Aquino will likely find himself  in the starting 11. He will be a key player for a team that loves to attack. Elche is a club that Rayo needs to look to earn all 3 points to maintain its first division status.

Real Sociedad v Celta Vigo 9/13/14, 3:00 PM Carlitos Vela has had a rough preseason, battling injuries but his form is still there. Unfortunately, a foot injury is still there too. It might be enough to keep him off the pitch this weekend

Malaga v Levante 9/13/14, 11:00 AM Ochoa is in the game day 18 but is likely to not see the pitch. He had a strong showing against Chile last week but missed the week of practicing with his still new back 4. I guess his coach does not pray at the altar of:

Porto v BATE 9/17/14, 1:45 PM  Herrera might be the Mexican on the bench this week for Porto. El Zorillo might get a rest this weekend after being on international duty with El Tri. He is a starter at Porto, being on the bench should be a rare sight. Diego Reyes was not called up and spent the break at Porto, might be in line to make his league debut. Reyes will not see any Champions League action, at least until January, as he was left off Porto’s squad for the group stage

FC Twente v Go Ahead Eagles 9/13/14, 11:30 AM Tecatito might have lost enough weight to please his coach enough feature in the First Team.

PSV v PEC Zwolle 9/13/14, 1:45 PM Guardado is in the same boat as Herrera. Will feature mostly in PSV’s starting line up but might start this weekend off the bench.

Hellas Verona v Palermo 9/15/14, 1:45 PM El Kaiser de Michoacan will de directing the back line for Hellas against Palermo. No international duty for him this past week, should be fit to go his usual 90.

CD Tenerife v Mirandes 9/14/15, 2:00 PM Ulises Davila already made his debut last week for Tenerife by going the distance. More of the same should be expected as he tries to help them gain promotion to La Liga.
