When You Want To Transfer But Cant

The transfer window will be closing in about 72 hours, and it seems the few Mexicans expected to move might just end up in their same spots. Between deadline on Monday and today, there are games to play. See below for a schedule, as I try to focus on games and not Mexico’s newest kits

FRIDAY

Rayo Vallecano v Deportivo La Coruna- 1:45PM- Aquino’s contract with Villarreal runs out in the summer. He needs to show some development to ensure he returns next year. It will help that he will not count as a non-EU player next year though.

Watford v Bournemouth- 1:45PM– Layun has hit the ground running for Watford. I do not agree with Herrera’s assessment of the transfer and think Layun can help lead the club to the EPL.  Check out the highlights of Watford’s last game. He is quickly becoming a key figure for them.

    SATURDAY

Real Madrid v Real Sociedad- 9:00AM– Carlos Vela will be on the field but Chicharito is more likely to watch his national team teammate from the sidelines.

Atletico Madrid v Eibar- 11:00AM– Raul Jimenez will be staying in Madrid and will not go out on loan. Will he play? That is to be determined.

PSV v Willem- 11:30AM– It does not appear anyone will catch up to PSV this season. Guardado is likely to add to his trophy case with the Dutch club.

Twente v Cambuur- 1:45PM–  Tecatito’s great season continues.

SUNDAY

Hellas Verona v Palermo- 8:00AM– Rafa Marquez left last weekend’s game with a calf injury. It is unsure if he will see the field against Palermo.

Vitoria v Gil Vicente- 10:00AMDavila made his debut for his new club in midweek. He needs playing time and it appears this move will grant him that.

Espanyol v Sevilla – 12:00PM– It seems Moreno will stay until the summer unless a (good) offer comes in before Monday’s deadline. Fortunately, his recovery is going well and Moreno will once again, be an integral part of Mexico’s defense in 2015.

Villarreal v Barcelona – 2:00PM– A big game for the Dos Santos hermanos. Both are products of La Masia and would like nothing more than to stick it to their former club.

FC Porto v Paco de Ferreira- 2:15PM– It seems like Diego Reyes will be joining Hector Herrera for the remainder of this season with Porto and not on loan

MONDAY

Malaga v Valencia- 1:45PM– Unfortunately, Malaga is now out of the Copa del Rey and Memo is likely to stay until June. We wont be seeing Memo on the field making saves like that until he finds a new club in the Summer Window.

-Cuauhtemoc Blanco made a visit to the Azteca on Saturday. It will likely be his final appearance in the stadium he made his name in. The Club America fans treated him with respect.
