LA Galaxy Reveal New Kit

El Brody wearing the new kit

I expected this kit or some form of a retro Galaxy last season when MLS was touting its 25th season. Instead, Adidas dropped the ball and MLS clubs had the most boring kits in the world. It’s good to see they are stepping their game up… at least for one club.

Props to the Galaxy and Adidas for bringing back this classic design from the late 90s. The design just feels fresh even if it is from the late 90s. It’s a design that a couple Mexican Internationals have already worn such as Jorge Campos and Carlos Hermosillo.

This new kit will also be worn by current internationals with Jonathan dos Santos and Javier Hernandez playing for the Galaxy this season. Maybe they can convince teammate Julian Araujo to make the switch to El Tri. I am a big fan of the kit and hope other MLS clubs look to their past for kit designs rather than use soul sucking templates. I know Adidas will prefer to use templates for cost saving reasons but designs like this are what fans want and what they will spend money on.

I have to give a shout out to the marketing team over at the Galaxy. They always do a great job but have really killed this jersey launch. This little animated video they posted was the icing on the cake for me.

What do you think of the kit?
