What to Watch- 10/02

In case you missed it, Mexico released a 25 man roster for the “CONCACAF Cup.” The list will be brought down to 23 by Monday. Mexico is doing everything they can to give Rafa and Guardado as much time to recover from injuries. But that game is next weekend, who is playing this weekend?

Friday, October 2nd

–10:30pm, Mexico vs Costa Rica: The road to defending their 2012 Olympic Gold Medal begins here for Mexico. First, they need to qualify for the 2016 Olympics and navigate the qualifying tournament. The squad looks capable to breezing through qualifying but the tournament is a tricky beast with short turnaround times and smaller squad sizes.   TV INFO HERE

Saturday, October 3rd

-3:00pm Real Sociedad vs Malaga: Rumors of Vela being left off the roster were untrue but doubts about his form still hold true. We all know what he is capable of but he has seen a dip in form for months now. Eyes will also be on Diego Reyes. He has been superb for Real Sociedad this season and many have him as one of the best CBs in La Liga so far. Also, Memo will be watching from the bench.  TV INFO HERE

Sunday, October 4th

-7:30am PSV vs Ajax: Mexico fans will be waiting anxiously for the team sheet in this game. If Guardado is in the squad and can play, there’s a good chance he makes the final roster on Monday for Mexico.  TV INFO HERE

-6:00pm Mexico vs Haiti: Like I said, the qualifying tournament is tricky. Mexico takes on Haiti less than 48 hours after playing against Costa Rica.  TV INFO HERE
