Weekend Schedule- 12/20

The way Tecatito is playing, I bet plenty of his kits are flying off the shelves. He’s become must see tv for fans, including me. My only complaint is Twente’s early kickoff times but this weekend they play a little later in the morning.  Look after the jump for Tecatito and other Mexicans Abroad kick off times.

FRIDAY (central time)

Porto v Vitoria Setubal- 2:30PM– Hector has his name engraved in the starting line up. Diego Reyes should be on the bench but even that is a step up from not being called up for the game at all.

SATURDAY (central time)

Real Sociedad v Levante- 11:00AM- If Real plan on finishing above the bottom third of La Liga, they need to win games like this. How will they win games? By relying on Carlitos Vela. He will continue to be a large part of their attack.

PSV v Go Ahead Eagles- 12:45PM– El Principito is going against my favorite team name in soccer right now. Unfortunately, their odd name is not helping them in the standing. While PSV reign at the top, Go Ahead Eagles are 1 point above the relegation table.

Real Madrid v San Lorenzo- 1:30PM- Champions League winners versus Copa Libertadores winners. Probably the best match up we could have hoped for but will Chicharito play?

Rayo Vallecano v Espanyol- 3:00PM- There is a good chance Hector Moreno starts this game as he continues his return from injury. Aquino has had a helter skelter season so far.

SUNDAY

Villarreal v Deportivo- 5:00AM- Gio had a strong 30mins in a midweek Copa del Rey cameo. If Villarreal have any real aspirations of challenging for a Champions League spot, Gio will need to be at his best.

Hellas Verona v Chievo Verona- 5:30AM– Back from suspension, Rafa will command the backline.

FC Twente v Willem- 9:45AM– Corona continues to have a great season at Twente. He chipped in with 2 goals in mid-week and looks hungry for more. Also, nice goal celebration.

Malaga v Elche-  12:00PM- Another strong game/showcase for Memo in midweek but he will watch this from the bench. January can’t come soon enough for him.

Atletico Madrid v Athletic Bilbao- 2:00PM– Raul Jimenez played a full 90 mins in Atletico’s cup game. His play was encouraging but he is not likely to crack the starting lineup for league matches any time soon.

Oswaldo Sanchez announced his retirement this week from professional soccer

-Miguel Layun might be featured more on this site going forward as he is the transfer target for a couple Euro teams.

-Mexico’s alleged “away kit” for Copa America 2015. Thoughts?

Jorge Espericueta is on his way back to Tigres. His loan is up at Villarreal.
