Weekend Schedule- 11/08

The weekend is upon us and that means club soccer. Below are some notes about games featuring Mexicans abroad. Sound off in the comments

SATURDAY

Real Madrid v Rayo Vallecano- 1:00PM– Javier Aquino has looked like Rayo’s best player for large portions of the season. Look for Rayo to attack Real Madrid. It is the only way they know how to play. It could get ugly but there should be 2 Mexicans on the field and that’s what we all came to see.

Malaga v Eibar- 3:00PM– Next time Memo plays for a club, it will likely be with Liverpool in a cup game in January.

SUNDAY

FC Twente v FC Dordrecht- 7:30AM– Tecatito is flying high at the moment, he just became a father and was just called into his first senior national team camp. The cherry on top is his team will face off the worst team in the Eredivisie. I might even wake up early enough to catch the whole game.

PSV v Heracles-9:45AM– This loan move looks better and better for Guardado. PSV are flying high and look to extend their Eredivisie lead against the 2nd worst team in the league.

Villarreal v Espanyol- 10:00AM– Los Submarinos Amarillos are coming off a tough midweek defeat in the Europa League. They currently sit in 8th place in La Liga and will try to take advantage of a Hector Moreno-less Espanyol to climb higher in the table. The Dos Santos Hermanos played the full 90 in the Europa League game and it must have been pretty cool to pass the ball to your bro….

Hellas Verona v Inter- 1:45PM– Might look like a mismatch but Inter are not what they use to be. They are a midtable team, much like Hellas Verona are this season. El Kaiser de Michoacan has commanded the backline for Hellas in nearly every game this season. Look for him to do the same against Inter.

Real Sociedad v Atletico Madrid- 2:00PM– Real are in search of a new coach and in search of points. Maybe Vela will share another manager with Chicharito besides Piojo. I bet he would still see the field more than Chicharito did with Moyes. Unfortunately for Raul Jimenez, the field is not something he has been on lately for Atletico.

FC Porto v Estoril- 2:15PM– The closer we get to the transfer window opening, the louder the chatter gets over Diego Reyes going out on loan. I do not think he will go out on loan. Porto will likely need him if rumors of Martins Indi heading to United in January prove true. On the other end of the spectrum, we have Hector Herrera. He has cemented his spot within the team and is an automatic starter at this point.
