San Memo

Coming off a great World Cup, suitors were lining up for Guillermo Ochoa. But here we are in the third week of July and he has yet to sign anywhere. It appears a couple of those early suitors (Arsenal/Atlético Madrid) have moved on to other targets. Ideally, Ochoa wants to stay in France for at least another season to acquire a EU passport. Holding that EU Passport will make him a more desirable player in the future with several leagues restricting the number of non-EU players a club can sign.

Out of the teams we keep hearing about: AS Monaco, Malaga, Liverpool, AC Milan, I am hoping he goes to AS Monaco. There he can play Champions League football, acquire his EU Passport, and maybe even challenge PSG for the Ligue 1 title. Monaco is need of a starting keeper after Victor Valdes failed his physical earlier this summer. Ochoa staying in France would mean he stays in a league he knows very well and has excelled in. Wherever he goes, it will be a step up from his relegated club AC Ajaccio.
